Rendition(s)
may be either paper or electronic (CD-ROM) - possibly both. If you have
both paper and CD-ROM they do not duplicate each other. They are
different parcels. If the paper printout(s) would have exceeded about
30 pages, it is being sent on CD-ROM. Rendition files on CD-ROM were
made using Microsoft Word and Excel.
CHANGES you may come across in the 2009 forms - especially for larger
companies - are:
1. Parcel numbers may
have changed. Some parcels get difficult to work
because of the huge amount of data in them. Larger parcels have been
split into more manageable sizes. As part of this split, the data has
been moved into parcels that can be more closely associated with oil
and gas geographic areas. It depends mostly on how many wells a
particular company has in a particular geographic area. Each company is
looked at individually for this process. This is an ongoing project. Additional parcel splits in the future are
likely.
2. Well Pads. It has
become unmanageable to try to separate which particular piece of
equipment goes with a particular well on a multi-well pad. What you
will typically see for well pads is a simpler, more manageable, equipment
listing. Most large companies have been very helpful in providing well
listings that indicate which wells are associated with which pad. We
have tried to follow your listings, and pad identification system, as
closely as possible. This
is an ongoing project.
Basically,
there will be a ‘Master Well’ for each well pad. That ‘Master Well’ is
typically the well after which the well pad has been named by your
company.
Each
well on that well pad will have an individual equipment listing,
usually just one line, for the wellhead (christmas tree) equipment.
In
almost all other cases, all
the remaining equipment for that well pad will be listed
on the ‘Master Well’.
You need to verify that duplications do not exist for overall well pad
equipment.
Example:
A well pad that has six associated wells. Usually there will be only
one equipment line listing, the wellhead, for five of the wells. The
sixth well, the ‘Master Well’, will have an equipment line for its
wellhead PLUS all the other equipment on that pad.
There
is a cross reference IDNO (column A) that will allow you to associate
wells with well pads. If you sort your Excel spreadsheet by IDNO it
should place all your pad wells together in consecutive order by well
pad/well name. For paper printouts look for an entry in the Asset #
column to sort by.
3. Quantity vs Cost:
Pay particular attention to line items that have a number greater than
‘1’ in the QUANTITY column. Make sure the ACQCOST reflects the installed cost of a single item - not
the total cost of all the items. The computer will automatically
multiply the QUANTITY number times the ACQCOST to arrive at a total
value for that line. Particular attention should be given to Tanks and
Gas Production Units.
Reporting
Back
- Regardless
of whether you have received paper or CD renditions we MUST receive
back a signed affidavit statement report for each parcel/account
number.
- Report new
wells via paper. If the new well is on a well pad, please also indicate
the name of the well pad.
- If you
received a CD-ROM with an Excel spreadsheet you may also respond via
the spreadsheet. Use:
Light
pink
‘highlight’ to indicate items that should be DELETED. Add comments to
the right if needed for clarification.
Light
yellow
‘highlight’ to indicate items that should be CHANGED. Add
comments to the right indicating what those changes should be.
Light
blue
‘highlight’ to indicate items that should be COMBINED. Add comments to
the right indicating what should be combined.
Light
green
‘highlight’ to indicate items that should be ADDED to an existing well.
Add comments to the right indicating to which well it should be added.
These entries can all be placed at the bottom of the spreadsheet.
Make
sure you also send the required SIGNED AFFIDAVIT STATEMENT ON PAPER FOR
EACH PARCEL. Your signed statement should add a reference to your
CD-ROM which should be identified by a number or dated title. Use a
CD-R (not a CD-RW) to preclude any alteration once data is burned to
the CD-ROM.
Please
note that your provided information is hand entered
into our computer system. Keep things easy
to understand.
