Crimes Reported & Arrests Index
According to the Uniform Crime Reporting statistics compiled by the Office of Wyoming Attorney General
, the number of index crimes reported and arrests made within Sublette County rose exponentially between 2000 and 2005. This increase was highly correlated with rig activity in the County. However, total index crimes plummeted 22.4% in 2006 and slightly rebounded in 2007.

Violent & Nonviolent Crime
Most non-violent index crimes (burglary, larceny, robbery, and motor vehicle theft) have grown since 1995. Violent crimes (murder, rape, and felony assault) however, although fluctuating, have remained relatively low. The notable exception has been assault, which has steadily increased. Rape, while not increasing substantially, has occurred with greater regularity in the past five years.
