Melissa was raised in Chugiak, Alaska, first coming to Wyoming 20 years ago as a Freshman at UW. While she has lived briefly in other states, Wyoming’s boomerang effect resulted in her continual return.  Melissa’s legal experience in varied, including assisting a Guardian ad litem to represent the best interests of children and a stint at a mass torts firm specializing in pharmaceutical litigation. Prior to this position Melissa had the privilege to work as Health Care Policy Advisor to Governor Matt Mead. While a law student, Melissa had the opportunity to practice family law through UW’s Domestic Violence Legal Clinic. Melissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a Master’s Degree in Gender and Women’s Studies. Her interests vary by season, but consistently include reading, traveling, most things outside, and being trained by her dogs.
